WHY CHOOSE US?
Endocrinologist are specially trained physicians in Hormones Diseases
Endocrinologist
Our clinic is run by a board-certified endocrinologist who is an endocrine specialist that has received accredited training in this field by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Many other "hormone clinics" are run by DOs, MDs, nurses, physician assistants, chiropractors, “holistic”, “functional” or wellness practitioners who have not received this training and do not have any board certification in this field. This certification requires at least 2 years of additional training (after 3 years of internal medicine training) through an accredited fellowship program affiliated with a major hospital or medical school.
We spend time with our patients
In many clinics, you may feel like you are being rushed in and out by nurses and doctors. Dr, Zisman purposefully limits the number of patients that he sees per day so that he can spend enough time with each patient to address their questions and concerns. Our practice takes pride in the age-old medical tradition of talking with our patients (something that has unfortunately been fading in modern medicine). A comprehensive interview and a solid physician-patient relationship allows for proper health education and adherence to treatment.
We keep up with the newest information in the field and participate in clinical research
Scientific and medical knowledge is constantly advancing. We believe that to provide the best possible care, our physicians must keep up with the latest research and clinical guidelines in our field. In addition, Dr. Zisman regularly attends national and international conferences, provides professional clinical education to providers regionally and nationally, and participates in clinical research projects in diabetes.
We genuinely care
We strongly believe that competence and compassion are the pillars of good medicine. We are always looking for ways to improve our customer service to parallel the quality our medical delivery.
WHAT IS ENDOCRINOLOGY?
Who is an Endocrinologist?
Endocrinology is the study of the hormone-secreting gland systems. Hormones are chemicals created in specialized groups of cells called glands in the body which travel in the blood usually to distant locations to cause different effects on target organs, tissues, or other cells. To work correctly, the body needs to produce the correct amount of hormone, the blood needs to properly transport the hormone, and finally the receptor for the hormone needs to function properly. Diseases of the endocrine system occur when one or more of the endocrine systems in the body are not working well, causing a hormone imbalance. These imbalances can be caused by too much hormone, too little hormone, or improper receptor interaction with the hormones produced.
